Solomon Jamiru has practiced law for 18 years (qualifying to serve as a Justice of the Court of Appeal). He was the overall second best student at the Sierra Leone Law School in 2006, and was awarded the highly covetous prize for drafting and construction of legal documents. He did his pupilage with Wright & Co (Solicitors) one of the leading law firms in Sierra Leone. Mr. Jamiru has conducted his practice over the years with consummate competence and craftsmanship, earning the trust and admiration of his peers, senior practitioners, benchers, clients, and the wider public. In the first few years of his practice, he served as In-House Solicitor for the mobile telecommunications company Millicom (SL) Limited from 2006-2008; He later served as Head of Legal, Administration and Human Resource at Zenith Bank (SL) Limited 2009-2011; Sat on the Board of the Sierra Leone Insurance Commission (2013-2016), and has represented many government and corporate interests. He has extensive experience in corporate/commercial practice, and has worked on international transactions, including complex offshore acquisitions. He is also immensely experienced in criminal litigation and advocacy. From June 2018 to January 2024, he served at the highest level in the government of Sierra Leone (including Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Spokesperson for the National COVID-19 Emergency Operations Center)). He last served as Press Secretary to the President from July 2023 until his resignation in January 2024 to continue his private legal practice. With his vast experience in both the private and public sectors, he is well-positioned to advise on current and emerging challenges that confront clients and help them navigate the bottlenecks to achieve speedy and satisfactory results.
